Product Description

Sigh… traveling by air in the old days sure seemed more fun than today.

This charming 1960s menu for the Irish airline Aer Lingus features not just a friendly air hostess in a green uniform and hat the color of shamrocks, but friendly food and drink as well. Look at those faces!

In-flight service items included cans of Guinness, an Irish dry stout that originated in Dublin, Ireland, in 1759.

Magazines to while away the flight time and cotton wool to drown out the noise of the engines were available on request and smoking was not only permitted, but passengers could buy packs on board.

The service was so good, the airline felt compelled to point out that no gratuities or tips were required.

On the opposite side of the menu was a lovely map of Dublin, showing the city’s ‘fine squares, her handsome river and her graceful and historic buildings.’

There was also – of course – an advert for the Guinness brewery which passengers could visit.

The Black Stuff, Irish Champagne and a Pint of Plain are all nicknames for this much-loved Irish institution which remains one of the most famous beers in the world.

Gallery quality Giclée print on natural white, matte, 100% cotton rag, acid and lignin free archival paper using Epson archival inks. Custom printed with border for matting and framing.

Each order includes a print of the interior menu.
