Product Description

Bullock’s Tea Room was the crown jewel of the luxury department store Bullock’s on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, an Art Deco masterpiece that opened in 1929. The famous tearoom was on the fifth floor, with views of the Hollywood Hills, and catered light lunches and afternoon tea for society ladies and film stars such as Gloria Swanson, Mae West, Greta Garbo, Clarke Gable and John Wayne. The famous American animator and film producer Walt Disney was also a regular.

This children’s menu features a version of the cartoon character Snow White and is probably dated in 1938, a year after Disney’s famous Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs film was released.

The charming menu is filled with references to the film, such as Happy Scrambled Eggs, Sneezy Salad and Wishing Well Cake.

Lucky Hollywood kids whose parents took them here!

Bullock’s was damaged during the LA riots in 1992 and closed its doors the following year as fans fought to keep dishes and cutlery as souvenirs. This elegant building is now owned by Southwestern Law School which has beautifully preserved the decor of Bullocks Tea Room and turned it into a study hall. The law school opens the tea room once a year to the public.
