This elegant 1953 drinks menu with its fabulous graphics transports us back to the Golden Age of transatlantic travel by ocean liner. It is from the bar aboard The Queen Elizabeth which, together with The Queen Mary, plied a weekly service from Southampton to New York. About 2500 passengers were on board the Cunard ship and as this menu suggests, it must have been a glamorous way to travel. The ship was eventually taken out of service in 1969 and replaced by a smaller liner, the QE2.
