New York Central System Wartime Dining Service, 1943
"More Diners... but no more dining cars. More meals to serve... but loss of many important foods to go around. That is the wartime dining car situation." This beautiful menu from 1943 paints a telling story of life during World War 2. The V for Victory message on the cover (and in Morse code at the top) and throughout the interior. "From now till Victory we will go on serving you to the best of our ability. In the meantime, thanks for your aid and understanding in today's difficult situation."
