Product Description

This simple but stylish image of 707s was the front cover of an in-flight menu on Sabena, the national carrier of Belgium from 1923 to 2001.

It shows the European carrier’s fleet of long-range, narrow-bodied airplanes, the first jetliner produced by Boeing, heading up into the wide blue skies.

We know this menu is from 1968 because we found it with an old-fashioned and dated airline ticket, which came in the shape of a checkbook and was handwritten, with carbon copies that could be torn out.

The flight was  from London to Brussels, the capital of Belgium, and the passenger was continuing on to Beirut and then Cairo.

Sabena was created by the Belgian government and in its heyday flew both long-haul and domestically. It got into financial difficulties in the 1990s and SwissAir took control but both airlines went bankrupt in 2001.

Gallery quality Giclée print on natural white, matte, 100% cotton rag, acid and lignin free archival paper using Epson archival inks. Custom printed with border for matting and framing.
